ASIE is attending the International Art and Charity Event, 2nd edition 2016 from 17 – 20 May 2016. This event is held by Treasures for the Future Association in Paris, France.

This event is to support visual artists from around the world, and to help the Ivorian association ASAPSU in the medical support projects focused on local communities.

As scheduled, on 20 May 2016, a round table discussion on “Art as Social Practice” will take place as an important part of Treasures for the Future. "Art as Social Practice" is a phrase often used to characterize a socially conscious form of creative expression that seeks to engage the artist and artwork in humanitarian struggle.

The Round Table will include discussions on the connection of art, photography, and craft with various social issues that can change the world of art and that can socially, politically, and philosophically represent the direction of society; as well as discussions on art as a physical object that occupies space versus one that takes on an active role of its own.

  • The discussions will be to answer the following matters:
  • The role of culture and education in sustainable development;
  • The role of culture in development and cooperation;
  • Culture and creativity as renewable resources for the transformation of society and humaneness in educational programs;
  • The impact of culture and creativity on local development;
  • The need for charity events and their importance for artists.

With five minute presentation, ASIE is introducing about the organization and its interest in the linkage between its mission and the culture preservation among ethnic groups in Vietnam and the perspective of promote the ART SAVES LIVE EMPOWERMENT MODEL to other countries in Southeast Asia and Africa.
